Not actually a devlog #14
Oh wow, two weeks in a row! I guess travelling (alone) is the best time to read some nice things. Let's hope I will keep the pace! Honestly I'm not really sure about the things to share as I have a lot less stuff in my articles backlog ๐ฌ.
๐๐ฅ Readings & Watching
- ๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ง The Internet Was Weeks Away From Disaster And No One Knew. Someone suggested this one after I shared the next article. Like any APT story, it feels like a spy movie, and as always, social engineering is key. This one is about the xz backdoor and how a frustrated, dedicated tech enthusiast helped detect the threat. The link points directly to where the video starts talking about the actual attack.
- ๐ ๐ฌ๐ง The people holding up the internet. An article reflecting about the infamous XKCD comic strip about dependencies. It's interesting and uses dataviz to make it beautiful!
- ๐ ๐ฌ๐ง Get Up to Speed Unbelievably Fast: A Practical Guide to Rapid Onboarding. Nothing new here but it's nicely explained with categories to help onboarding on both sides.
- ๐ ๐ฌ๐ง How Keeps 30+ Gradle Modules DRY with Convention Plugins. This one is really android centric to leverage internal Gradle plugins to factorize common configurations.
- ๐ ๐ฌ๐ง Your AGENTS.md file doesn't actually do anything. We're in the agentic era y'know. Well, harness fine-tuning also means understanding that it's probabilistic to the core: sometimes the agent simply misunderstands or ignores what you wrote in the file it's supposed to read ๐คท.
๐ Projects
- tableronde is pretty stable on Android and web. I have a lot to say about Bazel and UniFFI as planned in the previous post. Also I'm preparing two new articles about them.
- ShowTracker is also stable (on Android) but I'll focus over the next few weeks to add automated testing through different channels like Firebase, local devices "farm" through Maestro etc and will probably focus on the orchestration side of it through GitHub Actions and remote and local runners.
